Academics
OakGrove School provides exceptional academic opportunities for students who have been unsuccessful in a traditional school setting. With the guidance of invested teachers, trained para-professionals, and seasoned administrators, who work in partnership with the residential and therapeutic components of each student’s program, every effort is made to assure success.
OAKGROVE SCHOOL
OakGrove School is fully accredited and offers curriculum based on The Utah State Office of Education’s Core Standards. OGS modifies and enhances classroom content to address multiple learning styles and ensure every student has the opportunity to comprehend, retain, and succeed. Final grades in each subject are based on Tests/Quizes, Classroom Participation, and Assignments. Credit is awarded when a passing grade is earned. Our teachers are creative, engaging, and eager to help each student meet their academic potential.
OakGrove School operates on a year-round calendar. Students attend first through 4th quarter and Summer Quarter. They attend six 45 minute classes each day and have the opportunity to earn 1.5 credits each quarter. The school day starts at 10:00 am and concludes at 3:30 pm.
OGDEN WEBER APPLIED TECHNOLOGY COLLEGE
OakGrove School has partnered with the Ogden Weber Applied Technology College. If interested and once approved by the treatment team, students meet with an OWATC counselor to discuss interests and abilities. The wonderful counselors at the OWATC then work closely with OakGrove School to develop an educational plan and when necessary apply accommodations. Many of our students have succeeded academically and experienced an increase in self-confidence at the OWATC. Click here for more information about their training programs. www.OWATC.edu
